Etsy x Bride Australia Trunk Show 2015

Last night, Karen and I were very fortunate to be invited to Etsy x Bride Australia’s first ever collaborative Trunk Show at Melbourne’s 1000 £ Bend to celebrate their mutual love for weddings. As VIP guests, we were able to relax, venture around the stalls and meet all 20 creative Etsy Sellers. Besides being a busy on the iphone “insta this and insta that” of all the gorgeousness around us for @instasocial, we were glad to finally put a face behind the Etsy Sellers from all over Australia and even New Zealand! We even had a chance to learn how to make our very own flower crown! The perfect idea for a hen’s night too!

If you are bride looking for creative styling ideas, whether it is a cute little bow tie for your guy, or an engraved wedding ring with the letters “When I met you I fell in love with you” ring, or some beautiful hand calligraphy invitation cards, this is the Trunk Show to be. Intimate and cosy.

Here are the details in case you’ve missed it:

The two-day event (Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October) at Melbourne’s 1000 £ Bend (361 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne) will feature the work of Etsy sellers from around Australia with more than 20 sellers on hand to showcase their products and their making process.

Thank you so much Etsy and Bride Australia for having us, we had such an inspiring night of fun and adventure! xxx

Melbourne Wedding Featuring Anni & Rame

One of our favourite weddings of the year with this upbeat and super fun couple, Anni & Rame.

Anni actually works at the Maling Road Post Office (just 2 minutes walk from our studio) so we see each other quite often when we drop off our clients parcels and mail. So when she popped by for a surprise visit and told us she wanted to book us, we felt extremely lucky and special knowing how much they loved our work.

Thank you so much for choosing us as your wedding photographers so here are the highlights of their special day!

“Hey Karen and Alan, thank you both so much for your help and of-course your amazing wedding photos every moment of the day was so special and you captured it perfectly. We both love our album so much! Thank you! [heart] Rame & Anni xxx”

Belinda and David ties the knot in their back yard

Traditionally, most wedding couples tie the knot at church, or at the Royal Botanical gardens, or perhaps in the middle of Melbourne University Law School gardens, or at the beach, but this special duo, Belinda and David got married in their backyard. We just love the idea of looking into the backyard with a beer in one hand and say with pride, “hey, we got married here”. What an incredibly beautiful story to share with your children.

So what about you? What’s your ideal place to tie the knot?

Bobbi Brown World Tour with Business Chicks

It’s not everyday I get to rub shoulders with a world renown celebrity makeup artist such as Bobbi Brown. Two few weeks ago, I was the official photographer for Business Chicks (premier network of Women Entrepreneurs) to capture the action packed Bobbi Brown World Tour 2015 at the Docklands Shed precinct. Although I was busy snapping away, I was hanging onto every word, advice and experience Bobbi Brown shared to a roomful of 300+ women (oh and three lucky men).

This is Bobbi Brown’s life philosophies in building her successful make-up business empire:

  1. Work hard, but smart
  2. Be nice
  3. Be fearless
  4. Never stop learning
  5. Stay positive
  6. Keep on reading
  7. Surround yourself with great people
  8. Be grateful
  9. Be open, and
  10. Have fun!

Blast from the past – Boris Becker relaunches his PUMA red and white trainers

Last night I was invited to PUMA x BORIS BECKER Lifestyle Launch (#pumatennis) 2015 on 524 Flinders Street where Boris Becker relaunched his trademark red and white trainers he wore in 1985 when he was only 17 years old!

The biggest highlight of-course was meeting my childhood tennis player, Boris Becker who looked super relaxed and casual in his blue jacket over a monochrome polo shirt with dark denim, and red and white trainers. I must admit, I couldn’t recognise him at first because it’s been so long ago, but it was inspiring to learn that he’s still active in the Tennis Sporting industry – the current tennis coach to Novak Djokovic! I’m just glad he brought back his red and white trainers, because it just goes well with Street Wear!

Anyway these trainers are available at Platypus so get your hands on a pair because I’m sure I’ll be wearing mine to photo shoots.
