How to Have Glowing Skin for Your Wedding Day
Every bride wants to have perfect, glowing skin on their wedding day. While makeup can help, there is no substitute for preparing one’s skin in the weeks or months leading up to the big day.
Makeup artist and beauty therapist Yvette van Schie suggested that six weeks before the big day is a good time to begin. Exercise, diet, and a good skincare regime will reduce the chance of break-outs and will bring out a glow in the face.
A good skincare regime starts with thorough daily cleaning. Follow up with a hot shower, treatment oil, night cream, serum, and eye cream.
Exfoliate the skin and the entire body at least three time a week, preferably during a shower in the morning. Regular exfoliation will make the skin smooth and soft.
Protect the skin with mineral makeup or foundation that has sunscreen, and treat the hair with a weekly hair mask or hot olive oil. Brides-to-be should also start using a teeth whitener or ask their dentist for a whitening treatment.
Sign up for a manicure and pedicure every two week before the wedding and one on the day before the big day. Van Schie also recommended fake tans, eyelash tinting and waxing, as well as facials and body massages.
Brides should drink lots of water, cut down on alcohol and caffeinated drinks and take flaxseed oil, which is good for the skin.
